Driving Directions

From San Francisco and San Francisco International Airport (SFO): Take 101 North; follow signs to I-80 East, San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. After the Bay Bridge, bear left to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento).

From Oakland Airport (OAK), San Jose, or Hayward: Take 880 North toward Sacramento/San Francisco/Berkeley. Take the exit for I-80 East (toward Berkeley/Sacramento).

On I-80, exit at University Ave. and bear onto second right (East) onto University Ave. for 1.5 miles.

Turn left on Oxford St., then right on Hearst Ave. toward the top of the hill.

Parking Garage (pay) is located on the left between Euclid and Scenic on the downhill side, at the Lower Hearst Garage. Permit holders may park here or at Upper Hearst Garage at Hearst and Gayley Road.

-or- if taxi to campus, turn right on Gayley Rd. and right on University Way for entrance to UC. Tan Kah Kee Hall and Stat Mech Meeting will be on your left.

Taxis and Rideshare

SFO Taxis depart from the designated taxi zones located at the roadway center islands, on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of all terminals.

Uniformed taxi coordinators are stationed at the taxi zones from 7:00 a.m. to 2:15 a.m. to assist passengers with questions or concerns.

For those renting a car and staying near campus, it is strongly suggested that you check with your hotel about parking availability.

Public Transit

is available via the BART system from either the Oakland or San Francisco International Airports. From OAK, take the AirBart bus to the Coliseum Bart Station. From SFO, there is a direct BART link at the airport. Exit BART at the Downtown Berkeley BART Station. Campus is one block east of BART. The conference is approximately a half mile walk from the station to the east side of campus.

The AC Transit 51B bus line (toward Rockridge BART) travels from Downtown Berkeley BART (bus stop at corner of Shattuck and Allston) up Durant Avenue - get off at Durant just before College Avenue. Walk left on College one block to campus. Lyft and Uber are also readily available in the campus vicinity.

Parking

Pay parking is available at the Lower Hearst Garage between Euclid and Scenic on the downhill side of Hearst. Closest UC Permit parking garage is at Hearst Ave and Gayley Rd. Parking is allowed within the campus grounds only using a UC "C" Central parking permit. Tickets are issued at all times/days of the week and are expensive.
